Friday Five Things [06/14/13]

1. So my bedroom has been infested. Err, that's probably a hyperbole a little bit, but I can't stay there all the same. I'd been getting bug bites for a few days (don't worry, no pictures) and then we recently found a bed bug! Gross! So I'm seeking refuge at The Boy's house until everything is figured out. Hopefully we don't drive each other crazy.



2. I cooked dinner one night for The Boy's family. We made enchiladas filled with cheese, corn, and refried beans topped with a tomatillo sauce and some more cheese. To go with it, we made jalapeno cinnamon corn muffins, and I tossed together a salad with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, black beans and cheese. For dressing I made a lime vinaigrette using white wine vinegar, corn oil, lime juice, salt, pepper, garlic powder, chili powder and a Mexican seasoning blend. It was fantastic!

It wasn't "Bad Wolf" but still cool. If I see this word following me, well, just call me Rose!

3. Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals was two nights ago. I'm rooting for Chicago, as I have been since the playoffs started. They're not my team (Go Devils! #JerseysTeam), but I think they are the strongest in the league right now. The game went into triple overtime, before Chi came out victorious. Their goalie, Crawford, made some incredible saves! All in all it was good hockey, and hopefully the rest of the series will be as awesome.

4. On Sunday, some friends and I (yes, including the Boy) are driving out to Cleveland to see another baseball game. I'm going mostly for the road trip and the adventure, but this boy is starting to get me a little bit interested in baseball. We're not seeing the Cubbies this time, instead his third favorite team, the Nationals are playing the Cleveland Indians.

5. I am going to start making some sponsored posts on this blog, but don't worry. Just because I'm  being paid to use specific products doesn't mean I'll change my style on the blog. I'll be honest and true to myself, or I won't do it! Also, not all my posts are going to be sponsored. I just need a little extra cash (don't we all) and this could be a good way for me to do that!
