June in Review

Wow. Can you believe that June is over already. It's July, and 2013 is halfway done, which is completely crazy to me. Time is a strange phenomena. It's amazing how quickly and slowly it can go at the same time. Thinking about that always reminds me of one of my favorite quotes:

Texas Sheet Cake! My favorite summer picnic dessert. Yum!
“When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. That's relativity.” - Albert Einstein
I honestly feel like I just wrote up May's month in review post, and can't believe that 30 days have past and been filled with adventures that are in the books. June was beautiful. How anyone can not love the only month that straddles over both spring and summer, I'm not sure. Of course it had it's share of rainy days, but it was mostly sunshine and good times for me.

Growing up, June was a sign on endings and beginnings - the end of school, the beginning of summer camp season. Now, it's not all that different conceptually, just in the doors that open and close. It brought the end of hockey season, and the playoffs were thrilling to watch. One of these days, I'm going to get myself to a real live NHL game. Congratulations to Chicago, the team I picked from the beginning of the post-season to take it all!

As for endings, in related to hockey, June ended with the NHL Draft, which is the beginning of new things. The Devils traded for Cory Schneider, the Vancouver back-up goalie, and also drafted Marty's son, which was adorable.

In the blogging world, my blog reached it's first milestone: 1000 pageviews! Since then, June has been a record-setting month for me. I can only hope to continue to see it growing. Please leave me feedback. Comments and tweets let me know you like what I'm writing and what you want to see more of. Another addition to my blogging life is that I joined SoFab, an awesome blogging community and I posted my first sponsored post, which could be the beginning of big things!

Summer baseball road trip! This time to Clevelands. Indians 2, Nats 0
June was full of adventures, lots of road trips both near and far. So far we've only done day trips, but hopefully overnight adventures will come my way soon. The Boy and I went to see some waterfalls and we drove out to Cleveland for a baseball game. However, I did spend a week in refuge when I had bed bugs, so that was like a vacation!

In my personal life, things are going okay. The Boy is great, but we spend nearly too much time together, on account of us both having fairly flexible schedules. I still don't have a job, but I'm forever looking. Applications are being sent out each and every day, and one day I will find something! I just have to keep trying.

Looking forward into July, it should be an interesting and busy month! I'll be flying out to California for B's wedding, and while on the west coast, we'll hit up Disneyland, which should be lots of fun! I'm thinking of visiting a few places as summer draws to it's peak. Of course, I want to get down to New York and Washington, but maybe I'll try out someplace new. Canada? Chicago? Maybe I'll skip my flight home and take a leisurely cross-country train ride back from California. Now that'd be an adventure!
