Friday Five Things [07/05/13]

1. For the next two Fridays, I'll be in California! That's right, it's coming up on time for B's wedding and the whole family is packing up for our big west coast extravaganza vacation. A little bit of hanging out in San Francisco for a few days, including a farmers' market and dim sum. Then the wedding is Sunday. Then Monday through the following Friday I'll be in Disneyland with mom, dad, M and W, before taking the red eye back that night. One week in California - should be an adventure, right?

June in Review

Wow. Can you believe that June is over already. It's July, and 2013 is halfway done, which is completely crazy to me. Time is a strange phenomena. It's amazing how quickly and slowly it can go at the same time. Thinking about that always reminds me of one of my favorite quotes:

Texas Sheet Cake! My favorite summer picnic dessert. Yum!
“When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. That's relativity.” - Albert Einstein

We Went to Cleveland

The Boy and I and his cousin trekked out to Cleveland, OH this past weekend to visit yet another ball park for a baseball game.

Welcome to Progressive Field!

Jeez, if this tour continues, people are going to start thinking I'm super into baseball. Quick, Kait, think of something fashion related to write about so that you readers still know you're a girly girl at heart.

Friday Five Things [06/14/13]

Adorable wine bottle holders! I'll have to try making these.
1. So my bedroom has been infested. Err, that's probably a hyperbole a little bit, but I can't stay there all the same. I'd been getting bug bites for a few days (don't worry, no pictures) and then we recently found a bed bug! Gross! So I'm seeking refuge at The Boy's house until everything is figured out. Hopefully we don't drive each other crazy.

Pittsburgh and Baseball

The conversation literally went like this:

Me: Want to go on a really big adventure on Thursday?
Boy: That depends ... where are we going?
Me: Pittsburgh.
Boy: What's in Pittsburgh?
Me: The Cubs.
And bam, just like that, we were going to Pittsburgh.

May in Review

I know it's been a couple weeks since I've posted, but hopefully this quick review post will let you know what I've been up to and why I haven't been as attentive as I would have liked to this blog.

So, here we are at the end of May, which is honestly crazy, because I'm nearly positive I was pulling out my green Flogging Molly t-shirt to wear to the bar on St Paddy's like last week or so. However, a lot has happened since the middle of March, and much of it in this great month of May.

Friday Five Things [04/12/13]

Pic of the Week: Miniature Baseball Stadium
1. I moved out of the basement of my apartment (where I lived with the guy I used to date) and into my own room upstairs. I've loved decorating my new space to really make it all my own - by covering the walls in paint chip art, old pictures and postcards, and pages ripped out of magazines. I hung up some of my scarves as more wall art and window treatments. It's amazing how a few sentimental items can turn any room into a haven.

Beginnings of Things

It's always easier for me to write when I'm stressed out, or tired, or if something is bothering me.

Empty playing field before the game starts
So talking about new relationships ends up being pretty tough for me, if for no other reason than that I'm happy. So instead of telling you how this started or how I'm optimistic and really trying to do things right this time, I'll just tell you about the baseball game we went to.

Friday Five Things [04/05/13]

My nails this week. They look like space!
1. I'm going to a minor league baseball game tomorrow! I'm not that into baseball, but I'm going with someone who is super passionate about it, and I love seeing people in their element. Learning something new from someone who is so enthused about it is so much more satisfying than learning from a book. And someone so captivated with a topic makes you want to learn. Also, he's just a really good, nice guy.
